METT being army jargon for Mission, Enemy, Troops, and Terrain.

There is no one best unit for every mission. That's why militaries diversify.

Now...In the fifties the Vietnamese did a pretty good job of kicking the Frechs' collective butt, however, I'm not sure that means I'd want to put them against an American Armored division at the same period in history in North Africa. It's all METT dependant, you see?
