Three Baptist ministers and their wives are traveling to a conference when they are involved in a fatal car crash.
The three couples suddenly find themselves in front of the Pearly Gates. St. Peter is standing there with a huge book open in front of him. He beckons the first couple forward.
"All of your life you claimed to do God's work. You HYPOCRITE!!!! You were so in love with money that you married a woman named Penny. However, because you did do so many good things with your ministry you may still enter Heaven, but you must use the back door."
The minister hangs his head in shame, grabs his wife by the hand, and the start walking around to the back door.
St. Peter then beckons the next couple forward. "All of your life, you have claimed to do God's work. You HYPOCRITE!!!! You were so in love with alcohol, you married a woman named Brandy. However, because you did so many good things you may still enter Heaven . . . . but by the back door." The minister weeps tears of relief and heads off to the back door with his wife.
The third minister and his wife slowly step forward. St. Peter looks down at the minister and his wife for a long time. As St. Peter begins to open his mouth, the minister says "I know, I know, I know. Fanny, let's go."
