This is a warning that should be put on all Bibles by Bellator2006-11-19 12:55:59
To true to be funny - don't limit it to the bible by UnFair 2005-05-17 06:25:48
all religious texts need a similar warning, since no diety is a publisher but speaks only to individuals. As soon as they put it down in their language it is debatable and free to be interpreted.

All religious (not fanatic) people I met up to now told me that they are inspired by the texts they read as much as by debates with other people, but that they gain their believe by "listening to God" in prayer, meditation, masses or alike.

None of them takes the Bible (the Koran, the Thora, the book Mormon...) literally except for the statements they personally consider facts (like Jews being slaves in Egypt or reported wonders like the dividing of the red sea). Even though most of them consider the scientifically debatable facts as true, all told me their reality was of no relevance to their faith.
