Based on all those things, I believe he meant it, and meant it explicitly as an insult.
Note I have NOT called for the mods, though I believe their intervention could be justified.
Even if he'd meant it exactly as you want to believe he did, he'd be liable for a (verbal) smacking, for the same reason that you don't leave a shotgun out for a child to play with. He made no attempt to explain his meaning, and so is liable for any "misinterpretations". Note that I wasn't even the first poster who called it a flame. |
