On the 9th of July the Norwegian "Storting" stated that the king of Sweden and Norway, Oscar II, was no longer king of Norway. It wasn't until the 23rd of September that the Union was formally dissolved. Oscar II denounced his right to the Norwegian throne on the 26th of October.

After that Norway imported a king from Denmark.
