... but not in the same way that I interpreted Illiad's post. I understood him to be talking about a much more aggressive manner - one that I realize is very difficult to define or describe. IIRC, he referred to the non-verbal "subtext" of the statement. I assumed that subtext was something along the lines of "anyone with such an idiotic idea is clearly too far out of touch with reality to be worth correcting." Most of us try to avoid projecting that opinion, but there are a few who put a lot of effort into making it as clear as possible in the least words possible. I agree that I would not find simple apathy offensive. Sad and discouraging, but not offensive.
