I do not find it offensive when kids use that word in that context. I find it sad. Not only are they ignorant, but they are ignorant that they are ignorant. That word as a retort is so loaded with ignorance and apathy that it is pathetic and pitiful. I find it to be the intellectual equivalent of seeing a fish flop around after you've hooked it out of the lake. You feel kind of sorry for it that it is so powerless and will soon be your or someone else's dinner.
