saw a VERY cool video of a live fire while banking that the pilot used the gun to litterally pivot the plane in the air (sorta circled around the tank that was the target)

those things are so redundantly built that it's astounding that they even ly in the first place, much less you could actualy knock one out of the sky short of running it over with another a-10. friend of mine worked as a chopper machanic near some of those, and the guys working on them would apparently not even blink at what most people would consider serious damage to an aircraft.
