Whether or not you're at th top or the bottom of the pecking order is partly up to how much you want to be there. If you want to be further up, you (all 'you' references are generic, of course) have to allow for things such as whatever is considered etiquette at that particular time and place. Mind, table manners are by no means the be-all-end-all that will get you to the top, but it is a good example of those little things that will help. Something like being able to play a half decent game of golf, and when to win or lose that game... (and no, I can't play golf worth beans, and I have never eaten at a 5-star place, if you might infer that I have based on my linked post) |
