  What's reassuring about that? by Peace_man2005-05-16 14:40:55
Since pilots are behind a locked door by techi8702005-05-16 14:49:50
      It's not the pilots I'm talking about. It's by Peace_man2005-05-16 15:01:11
And even then - what's reassuring about by Peace_man2005-05-16 15:08:25
Ummm, you do know that people hijack planes, right? (n/t) by RetiQlum22005-05-16 15:32:23
I have heard that it can happen, yes. by Peace_man 2005-05-16 15:41:35
But providing weapons for a potential hijacker doesn't do anything to reassure me that I'm in no danger.

And an announcement that tells a potential homicidal psychopath where to find a weapon that will allow hir to crash the plane and kill everybody in it doesn't do anything to reassure me either.

A calm knowledge that the airline is managed responsibly and has taken necessary precautions against potential hijacking, on the other hand, would make me feel a lot safer about flying that particular airline.

An announcement that the pilots are armed, on the other hand, simply starts me worrying about ways that they could be lured out and disarmed, so those guns could be used to hijack the plane and take it to Columbia.
