tastes better from some materials. I've realized that if you drink water of some P. E. T. flasks... it tastes weired at times... also on some flasks made of glass it tastes otherwise. And that applies for every water made thing, as lemonade, coke, probably beer (dunno, not drinking it) and so on... and of course for pipes that applies too as you said.
