backstoping i can agree with, however there is nothing to stop the user from reinitiating the account after it's "expired" you'd have to have an onsite password reinitiation, and that's a nightmare fiyou have remote workers.

if the hack finds a pass and logs in, it would make sence to send that info to a body who can alter the pass as appropreiate or just install a trojan rendering a future change moot.
