I must hate myself, but I use ME, I have reasons and they will be invalidated soon, but for now I have to use it... anyway I have a problem, hope you lovely people here will be able to help me with it.
Every time I start windows from a cold boot it starts up fine, all looks OK, but any time I try and open a program or click the start button I get the usual illegal operation box saying that <such and such> has caused a <whatever> in USER.EXE, which ends up with me eventually having to press the power button and try again.
Now, when I start in safe mode and simply reboot it works fine, and it continues to work fine (even if I reboot again) until I cold boot, then the same pattern again.
Anyone know why this is happening and what I can do about it?
Reinstalling is not an option as I won't have this machine for long and I don't want the hassle (if that is my only option then I'll cope with it as it is)
If anyone needs more info then just ask and I'll try and answer you.
