The Federal Greens are, as far as I can tell, slightly more right fiscally and slightly more left socially than the federal liberals, and are not especially environmental. In last year's election, various environmental groups were reccomending that their members vote NDP.
The various provincial Green parties are different. The Alberta Greens are a joke, seeming to be made up mostly of hippies and the marijuana crowd, while the federal Greens actually did rather well here (2nd place to the conservatives in a number of ridings). I understand that the BC greens are more like their federal counterparts. |
