repost on $%^&ing adware by unjust 2005-05-16 09:16:16
websearch will NOT go away.

norton websearch removal tool. adaware. spybot. notron itsbar removal tool. norton a/v. all updated. manual /wibble/ search of registry. manual removal/rename of every file written (except known things like email mailboxes) since the time of infection.

have run ALL of them. several times. several times before reboot, then immediately after reboot.

thankfully i can't deal with that machine until tomorrow afterwork, and i think i left it on this am (was scaning last night when i went to bed) so it's doubtless collecting mroe garbage on it's own today.

hijackthis getting d/l'd onto cd at work today to bring home and get this bugger off the internet to try to keep it from finding more crud. what else do i need to get?

sadly, system wipe is still not an option due to the sheer volume of soft on the system i don't want to screw with reinstalling (think 15+ >hour long install/updates not including winxp update/reboot/update dance, plus stuff like firefox)
