Convince yourself you are an alien castaway who accidentally got left here the last time your real family buzzed the planet, and that the yokels in your immediate vicinity are no more related to you than a cat is to its adopted human family. Thereafter, smile knowingly inside as you observe the antics of these peculiar primitives pursuing their filial pastimes.
I usually manage to make it for most of a day before some inebriated fourth cousin six-times-removed gets right up my left nostril. By that time, though, it's about time to head back to the hotel or domicile, and I can grouse about it on the drive instead of offending the right-deserving-bastitch who managed to get in under my screens.
