So basically, among salespeople. The concept of using a password that is NOT your pet or your your kid's name is alien to these guys. Common sense just doesn't apply. And there has STILL yet to be a HIPAA suit successfully defended. Right now there are no defensible measures; you only just "don't have a problem start."

I've been asked, "Why do we have all these screwy incomprehensible passwords to our carrier site logons?" *bangs head against wall*

The application of this law also does not often follow common sense. You guys ever wonder why there is so much admin cost in the healthcare industry, you can thank crud like this.

Granted there are some GOOD protections in there- like the person in charge of the hiring and firing should NOT handle the health insurance at work...the temptation is too great to apply selective downsizing if you know who is costing you the most.
