Bizarre wireless problem (Mac OS X) by thread_killer2005-05-16 05:57:17
Which OS X version are you using? by DustyX 2005-05-16 06:35:49
Did she upgrade to Tiger (OS 10.4) or is she running 10.3 or later? I haven't heard of this specific problem in 10.4 but there have been a number of issues.

Try creating a new account on her box with admin privileges and work from that one, especially if she upgraded. If it works you can feel confident that her account got borked.

Do you have an Airport Base as your hub/router or do you have a Mac connected using ethernet sharing via an airport card? Did you upgrade the router recently? Could it have set a limit to the number of connections it allows? If you share an ethernet connectionv via airport could that bridge be down?

Sorry I don't have an answer. I also apologize that I'm just providing more diagnostic hints than anything else.

I have the opposite problem now. My work notebook just up and quit working on my wireless network (non Airport network) but all my Macs are chugging along. I suspect that trashing the network settings and restarting will solve my problem.
