...but it isn't anymore. Most of the newest drives from the major manufacturers (even Samsung - see article in prior post) are now producing native SATA drives. All SATA-II drives are native, so far as I have seen. And WD was one of the earliest to use native SATA, with the development of their Raptor SATA drives.
