good to say about Christians, will you leave this one alone?) have any advice here?
Last week, I was looking for a friend of mine during Wed. evening Bible study. I passed the door of the study room exactly three (3) times. This week I heard about it (politely) from a couple of people wondering "what was going on". This, among lots of incidents involving myself and others, makes me wonder about the church I have chosen.
I've been going there for 2 1/3 years, and some are nervous about me walking around looking for a friend? Talk about an alienating experience! I often get that in my life, because as Winona Ryder put it in Beetlejuice "I AM strange and unusual". I thought I could expect better behavior from my church, though, after a couple of years of knowing me.
It's enough to make ya wonder if maybe you are some kind of freak, when so large a percentage of the people who are around you seem to think so! I've been accused of stalking, because I went to buy a book at a Barnes and Noble too near one woman's house. Another guy was accused of the same sort of thing because he hugs people.
I just wonder why "unusual" seems to mean "bad" or "twisted" to so many? You humans depress and aggravate me greatly sometimes! (wan attempt at humor) |
