anyone else. And that's not trite nor flippant, it's just a tautological truism.

Being yourself won't guarantee you'll be happy, but it certainly maximises the chances.

Those who honestly love you and care for you will continue to love you and care for you for one very important reason: the essential "you" is the same person, externally labelled or not.

Go in peace, sir. But please know that you may need to spend some time and effort with those whom you honestly love and care for, helping them understand.
I won't chide you for the timing or manner of your announcement. Others have already done so.
