You can attempt to redefine it how you like, but what I said, in the words of a bunch of old country songs, is "You done him wrong!". You pushed a lot of stuff on to his plate that is yours to eat. It may not seem entirely fair to you, but responsibility seldom does. Your decision, your consequences. Not his. It's too late to do it right, but you can try to mitigate the damage. If he can see emails, he can probably see UF. TALK to him, fast!
