'soccer mom'.... about 30-45 years of age with children in teen or pre-teen age groups. Usually live in the suburbs, and are involved in community activities. Also often are working someplace (i.e. not just a housewife). They were considered an important swing vote in the last US election. Women tend to vote more Democrat than Republican, but this particular group was viewed as having their concern for family safety make them potential targets for the 'Republicans are stronger on National Defense' plee. Also, their standing in the community helps them influence others to their voting viewpoint. You may also have heard the phrase 'NASCAR dad'. Somewhat similar description.... about 30-45 years of age with children in teen or pre-teen age groups. employed with middle income. Lives in the south of the US, or in the midwest/mideast. (not the coasts) Their importance in the voting game is that they usually are apathetic about elections and don't vote. Energizing them and getting them to the polls is perceived as a good thing for Republicans, since this group tends to vote that way.
