We use two chalices and two patens during the Eucharist... two people distributing the bread from the patterns and two the wine from the chalices. Makes communion go quicker. The extra chalic and paten is for the inevitable moment when someone drops it and breaks it.
Two cruets, one for the wine and one for water.
And, regarding your first point, in my opinion/belief, no matter which path of worship (unless it is devoted against love of self, God, others, and the world) is the same God. I, personally, find it impossible to worship outside of how I do, under a different path to God... but, God inspires folks in many ways, and I believe it is the same spirit present. Admittedly, a fuzzy explanation.
