its only 15 minutes flight time from dc to maryland where the a10s are based you can determine some oneisnt flying in a proper flight pattern very quickly well before he can do damage. they are limited to where they can be at by virtue of air traffic control. if they arnt where they are supposed to be then even before they can get to thier target you can vector in a slow mover like an a10 to intercept. thats why its call CAP (combat air patrol) you keep a slow mover and a fast mover on + 3 wait at all times.
