not control groups of armed "peacekeeping" officers who can then enter your home and take you somewhere at gunpoint, usually trashing the place in the process "looking for evidence".

True, now you have to have a court order to do that.

Having just recovered (at great inconvenience and some expense) from one such governmental "oh, sorry, we made a mistake", I'm very leery of making it even easier for the giant wheels of government to roll over citizens who were unlucky enough to get in their way, or be victims of a typo.
