systems used to store the data from stores, universities, and credit card companies. You really think the information is safe and "private" just because the company said it is? Once a company (or person) has the ability to track your habits, you have lost the ability to control who gets that information.

My point is that privacy is a fallacy. Privacy in the US ended with the Federal Income Tax and Social Security (if not before).
