However if you think about why most politicians are so in favor of an ID obligation it is, spot the illegal immigrant, spot the person on crimes committed before etc.

This while we have a justice system where one is considered not guilty until proven guilty and so on.

Basicly for all the wrong reasons and most certainly will be misused by the government who happily sells databases for commerce.

Especially the spot the illegal immigrant and a persons history is what rubs mw the wrong way and then I must admit I do not see much difference with: ausweiss bitte.
