ATTN: H/W Geeks! Abit Mobo question by Ecthelion2005-05-09 14:23:49
Super Socket 7 is limited to 550 mhz by joecrouse2005-05-09 14:41:03
BTW, WRT Super 7's... by Ecthelion 2005-05-09 17:09:08
It's all about the board, which is why I am inclined to trust Abit's claim about this Socket A board.

I've over-clocked K6-III's to 140~ish MHz on occasion; just takes the right board and a GOOD fan, etc. for cooling.

As to the Socket A speeds, their buses are double-pumped, meaning if it says 333MHz FSB, it's actually a 166MHz proc, with data on the rise and the fall of the cycle. Intel quad-pumps, so their 800MHz FSB chips are really just 200 MHz procs, just like the AMD Bartons.
