I don't perceive it as commercialization. I've always seen it as the opposite. In the midst of all the commercialization and materialism, take a moment to stop and remember what you're celebrating. And I'd celebrate permitting all the other religions to have something going on for their holidays. I wouldn't celebrate their holidays, but I'd celebrate the legal freedom and social tolerance that would support such displays. Freedom and tolerance for their beliefs is freedom and tolerance for my beliefs. Limitations on their freedoms are limitations on my freedoms. So what you are saying is exactly what I would support.
