ATTN: H/W Geeks! Abit Mobo question by Ecthelion 2005-05-09 14:23:49

Anyone familiar with the Abit SoftMenu system, WRT AMD Socket 7 boards? Supposedly it lets you play around with multiplier and bus speeds.

I ask because I'm thinking about buying a 333MHz FSB board and running up the multiplier vs. buying a 400MHz FSB board and keeping the multiplier low.

Or mathematically:

12.5 X 166 = 2075 MHz
           VS
10.5 X 200 = 2100 MHz

So I should be able to achive roughly the same processor speed. I know there's a theoretical preference for the latter, but will it really matter? Thanks,

JD
