        I have a .22 auto-reset target on top of a tire. by Feng_Li 2005-05-09 12:00:54
I've been using it for a couple of months, and I have never had a ricochet, *but* I have never deliberately shot the tire, either. Plus, I shoot .22 HP (it goes on sale at Bi-Mart) which tends to splatter rather than rebound when it hits a hard surface like the wheel rim. If you're going to be shooting at handgun distances I would reccommend facing it with dirt or something.

What we did at my friend's place was to dig a short way into the embankment(very low slope) and stack old railroad ties held in place with rebar. If you build some sort of retaining wall to hold the hill in place, that might be the best way to go.
