I forgot to mention that earlier that w/e there had been a "racial incident" at the beach. All minorities were a little on edge. And it's a little easier to have a simple discussion of "differences" when a) the kid is not using her Outside Voice (as she does when excited) and b) We're not busting a gut laughing at her excitement. Everybody at the table had blue eyes of some sort or other, she was just playing Sesame Street's "find the different one" sort of game.
