  building a backstop by Scragman 2005-05-09 10:27:08
at some point this summer I will be rebuilding my firing range, and I'll need a new backstop. My father knows a guy who has a rather extensive assortment of old tires. Would tires (filled with sand) be a good enough backstop to stop, say, a .30-06 (probably the most powerful round that I'll be firing)? Second, could this be a dangerous medium as far as rebounding bullets (like having a 9mm bounce off and come back at you, or .22LR)? Any input would be great.
