Firefox security article by run.dll2006-11-19 12:55:59
  I think they're going overboard. by skippy-ish_guy 2005-05-09 10:02:49
Think about it. That's TWO major flaws. How many holes does the leaky tub of the internet sea Internet Explorer have in ActiveX alone? This article is blowing these two flaws way out of proportion.

Sure security is an issue, but let's look on the bright side. Using FF dropped the amount of spyware that was accumulating on my system, and I think in the whole time I've used it, I've seen five pop-ups (And I've been using it since 0.1 "Phoenix"). That's MUCH better than what I can say about internet explorer. I can't say anything about Opera, since I've never used it, but iirc, Konquerer and a few other Linux integrated browsers were quite similarly secure with few pop ups.

As a side note, does anyone else think it's funny when you see one of those phony XP-like banner ads (designed to look like an XP dialogue box) when using Linux or Mac?
