Actually, it was his wife, but close enough. She was waiting in line at a bank with her 4 year old (at the time) son when he noticed a black woman in line ahead of them. "What's that?" echoed through the nearly silent bank. "That's a lady," was his mother's almost whispered reply. "No. You're a lady. What's THAT?" At this point his mother decided that discretion might be the better part of valour and left the bank.
