I chose that page because it explained all the (sensible) ways to do it. Nothing wrong with JavaScript for adding non-essential formatting. One of the things it is best at, really.

Myself, I would limit my formatting to what can be done with neither. With the header/content model, an image on the header, an image on the content, borders and padding as required and you're done.
