I need Financial Planning help... by niwikki 2005-05-07 15:31:07
on Thursday I'm going in to negotiations for going full-time with my current employer after completing the bar exam (I'll be taking time off between Thursday and the Bar at the end of July)...

I know what the average salary is, and I know the salary range... what I need to figure out is what my actual needs are. I've put together a budget (which already requires that I receive above the average just to maintain my lifestyle, assuming I take back financial responsibility for things my parents have been covering while I was back at school), but I don't know what I'm forgetting to take into account.

What are some important spending/saving categories I need to make sure to consider? (I've got healthcare, rent, loan payments, auto insurance & maintenance, food, clothing, and various other expenses I nabbed out of my financial record, but I've got very little in there that's "discretionary"...)

Thanks!
