A little theory on Opera vs. Firefox. by Ravenlock2005-05-07 14:27:05
Yes, yes it is. by LionsPhil 2005-05-07 14:46:04
(A stupid reason. ;) )

Open source *can* be kind of exciting, but the Mozilla projects are hardly an example. They all suffer from terrible issues which could have been avoided if only they'd had proper management: infighting amoungst the devs, lack of focus, poor prioritisation of tasks...I could go on, but I've already probably got people sharpening their pitchforks. I don't think that they *have* created something great or expandable, not least because it's a mess (hell, take a look at the source).

Firefox isn't without merit. It's certainly a Good Thing to see *something* with good standards-compliance eating away into IE's market share. But it's not All That.

Anyway, that's that. I have a project to work on (which is why the Big Browser Test thing hasn't happened yet), so shouldn't be getting into browser flamewars. If you disagree with my opinion/argument herein, too bad: I don't have the time to defend/refine it properly. ;)
