They aren't directly downloadable. They have an application that manages the downloaded pictures and sets them up as wallpapers on a schedualed rotation (once a day, hour, minute, etc.) through a system tray applett. The site has a "picture of the day" and entire libraries of images in themed directories (downloadable as a collection instead of single images). It has an import and export function - but if it has copyright information on images in its library, it won't allow exporting of those images.

Just tested the link and - woah! I haven't been there for a while and they've completely redesigned their web site! Their search tool says that they have almost 150 million photos. They also say they allow uploading and sharing of one's personal photos! Hm. I guess I'll have to wander around that site again after while....
