was a track called "Journey of the Sorcerer" from Side B of the Eagles album "One of These Nights". The original British HHGTTG radio series used the actual Eagles track, but the music on the American re-recording of the series, the books-on-tape, and the movie were all remakes of the song, no doubt done by some random studio dudes. I don't know why they didn't use the original track - probably has something to do with Don Henley's lawyers needing gas money.
It's a neat song, but like thousands of my fellow HHGTTG geeks, I can't hear it without wanting to hear Simon Jones say, "The...Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" over the top of it. |
