Cool Firefox extentions. by dodrian2005-05-05 03:00:40
Here's what I use and what they do. by Scirocco 2005-05-05 03:13:05
Adblock - block out ads using regexps and/or wildcards (or just direct URLs).
Bookmark Backup - makes a backup of your bookmarks every time you start the browser. Saves them for a week or so.
Bookmark Duplicate Detector - notifies you if you try to bookmark an already bookmarked page.
BugMeNot - Automatically fill in login-fields with info from bugmenot.com
DictionarySearch - Highlight word, rightclick and select "Search in dictionary" and get word defition in new tab (perfect for me, who doesn't speak English natively)
Download Manager Tweak - makes the download manager appear in a sidebar instead of its own window.
EMbuttons - Creates hotkeys for the Extensions and Themes windows, not sure why I got this. ;)
ForecastFox - Adds weather forecast (and current weather, if you want to) to one of several selectable points (I got mine in the status bar)
Greasemonkey - allows you to make certain code run or CSS change on specific (or all) sites. Used mainly for some tweaks on another site.
Openbook - Customizes the Add bookmark-dialog.
Plain text links - Highlight anything and open from RMB-menu as if they were a link. Perfect for those posts by people not familiar with the A-tag. ;)
StumbleUpon - Discover new websites. Works with the site with the same name.
Tabbrowser Preferences - Awesome extension adding some "hidden" tweaks to easily used options in the option window. With this one and one simple about:config tweak I never get any unwated popups.
User Agent Switcher - Perfect for those sites that only allows IE6 in.
Web-Develoepr - Live editing of CSS, table/div/more outlining, easy code validation and lots of more useful tools if you make websites.
