| Sorry, but I don't really trust it. Yes, I know from friends that there don't seem to be any real problems in your country. But from reading a lot about these systems up to and after the latest U.S. presidential electing, I was horrified by the sheer potential for problems, both accidental and deliberate. Of course it's also a question of how the election system is set up, but a combination of bad elections setup and non-secure electronic voting systems is IMO a catastrophe waiting to happen.
I've been an election official three times here in DK, where we use the good old-fashioned paper and pencil system still. And while it's not as fast as E-voting, it can be plenty fast when properly organized. Given a choice between fast and secure, secure should always be preferable.
Final note: I'm a member of a right-of center party, just so you know this isn't coming from some leftist-conspiracy-theory nut ;-) |
