Methinks, by merfax2005-05-05 00:17:52
It may be deeper than that. by Capt. X 2005-05-05 01:33:14
Steve Irwin "comes out of the closet" and immediately gets bashed. The symbolism is clear enough, but what's the meaning?

Could it be a commentary on the difficulties faced by Australians who pursue alternate lifestyles? Is it a call for tolerance and understanding? Or is Illiad just implying something about Irwin and his obsession with wearing tiny little shorts?

Whatever the underlying message is, the cartoon makes zero sense, since it's clearly Sid who should be taking the beating. As anyone can tell you, if you give an Aussie a cricket bat, no North American stands a chance.
