Times will improve with time. The _only_ thing you have to worry about is becoming discouraged (or getting a running injury). Just do you miles regularly and you will gradually approach a time your body can achieve - that's far more than most people do. Just don't hurry it - "too much too soon" is the most common cause of injury. (And who the heck are you comparing times to?)
