My younger brother was playing a 7th level gnome psion (3.0), and was a level behind everyone else. He decided to go off alone, to get a bunch of experience.

At one point, he went to sleep with basically no safty measures (not even well hidden) in oger country. This meant that he woke up being captured by four ogers. They knocked him out, and took him for roasting.

He came to in the fire, tied to a stake. He Escape Artists his way off the stake, but is immediatly clubbed unconscious again.

He comes to a second time in the fire, and this time, casts (manifests, for any Rules Lawyers out there) Concussion on the leader. The oger gets mad at him and decides to burn him instead of slow-roasting him.

Fortunatly for the gnome, all the characters in that campaign had hairs in safekeeping for ressurection spells, so he was eventually brought back.
