RPG Character Death Stories Thread: by RetiQlum22005-05-04 14:56:26
  Kojiro: 11th level Kensai. by RetiQlum2 2005-05-04 15:04:16
I may have told this story before, but it's a great one:

Back in the Fall of 1992, we had just gotten back to college.

We were taking a trip to Krynn so Andrew( playing Kojiro) could challenge someone important and FINALLY reach 11th level. This was a big deal since that is the only way high-level Kensai can advance. He won.

On the return trip we were attacked by 'The Followers,' our arch-nemesi. Kojiro was knocked off the SpellJammer into the lake below.

Andrew: I swim to shore.
Jeff(DM): Do you have the swimming proficiency?
Andrew (looking over his sheet intently): Umm, no.
Jeff: You drown.

Now why is this funny? After all, character drownings are routine.

Well Andrew was my roomate. It was 1992 and he had just returned from Madrid.

Where he swam for Hong Kong IN THE OLYMPICS!

That's right, an Olympic swimmer had his character drown. This, children, is why I always choose swimming as my first NWP. Always.
