| ... they see working conditions as terrible. That might mean wages or it might mean something else. Unpaid overtime, sex discrimination, hiring illegal aliens, etc.
I have a friend whose wife works at one. I've heard first hand what is it like to work at her store. I do not believe her experience to be an aberration.
As a compare and contrast, there is a grocery chain in my town who also employs minimum wage workers, who also competes in a very low profit margin business. That's the compare, now for the contrast. No union has ever successfully formed there. It was also rated Fortune's #1 place to work for. Clicy
I wonder if there could be a relationship between unsuccessful union organizing and a good work environment. |
