...to convert into a 3D game system - nothing complex, right? I mention this because I have an opportunity to really create a rockin' job, but need to quickly snap out a demo before the potential Client will even nibble.
I have taken care of all of the software engine details: what I need is to pull together a list of some really simple games that could be placed/coded in a 3D simulated environment for fun and no profit. Emphasis on the word simple.
To this end, I have looked at Engines of Discrimination, Distro Wars (not a bad idea, actually...), the Lates Hit WebSite and Television Game Show, The GeekDay Game (I have a copy wherein the board is referenced as 'NetDay' - must be a typo version), I've even considered Wheel of Fortune -- the Dot-Com Edition, but I'm sure there are some other humorous (but simple) board-games out there that I could develop into - umm - well, develop.
This is more a challenge to build something that is (a) totally useless - except as a humorous diversion, but (b) showcases my talents as a developer. As I was interviewing for the opportunity, I shocked them by showing how they could actually recoup some of their losses - maybe even show a small profit margin from their efforts (pay me, get the product, etc...). They are developing their own board game, but haven't given me the first clue as to what they've got in mind. So - for a demo - I'm kinda' coasting it on my own. Not that it's a real problem, because I'm already good at this sort of thing: it's just that I wanted to provide something simple but humorous. Cute, even, if we have to go there.
Other than what I've listed here, can anybody think of anything along the lines of simple/cute that won't cause some producer's lawyers to get riled up? (I would most definitely contact Illiad, were I to decide to develop one of the aforementioned games, let me assure you.)
Just thought I'd ask: you'se guys are the msot creatively intelligent group I know... :o) |
