And genuinely flying ones too. No more of that "oops, this pig fell out of my plane with a parachute on...wow, a flying pig!" nonsense.
So, at work we have a setup where you can donate a little bit of money from each paycheck, anywhere from a dollar to twenty-five, towards a fund for employees who suffer some sort of abnormal misfortune.
Which leads to my novel thought...would it be possible/feasible/desirable to accomplish something like that here? Sort of an emergency fund for people to donate to when they have a little extra to spare, in case when someone does need help they are no longer in a position to be able to.I mean, even if everyone here was to donate just one dollar a month, we'd have a fairly decent amount pretty quickly to help people out with med bills, sudden tornado-induced homelessness, or, for those who may end up needing it (*cough*Lionsphil*cough*) legal fees and/or bail ;).
So, good idea? Or do I file it under rum-clouded ideas that ultimately lead to disaster. (I swear, putting a jet engine on that go-kart would have worked great!) |
